About the Solar Club® Foundation

The Solar Club® Foundation was created and initially funded by us as part of our company’s future Legacy. Over the years ahead, our goal is to extend the impact of Legacy Energy and Alberta’s growing solar community beyond energy generation and into the communities where we live and work. Greening the environment is essential, as is helping registered charities raise money to support their causes. This is important to us.

The Solar Club® Foundation is established as a donor-advised fund within Charitable Gift Funds Canada Foundation, a registered Canadian Charity (registration number 896713500 RR 0001).

Administration of the fund is provided through RBC's Charitable Gift Program. Charitable tax receipts for eligible donations of $250 or more will be issued in accordance with CRA guidelines

The Legacy Commitment

As more households and businesses participate in solar through the Solar Club®, that momentum helps fuel the Foundation’s work. What begins as an energy choice becomes part of something larger: a shared commitment to environmental responsibility and stronger communities.

Rather than focusing on short-term solutions, the Foundation prioritizes initiatives that create lasting change. This includes efforts that protect Alberta’s natural resources and programs that expand long-term stability and pathways forward for individuals and families. The goal is not simply to respond to immediate needs, but to strengthen the conditions that allow communities to thrive over time.

By connecting clean energy participation with long-term community investment, the Solar Club® Foundation works to strengthen Alberta’s future, one initiative at a time.

Join us in building a stronger, more resilient Alberta through clean energy and collective impact.
Together we can truly make a
positive impact
The Solar Club Foundation is proud to support investments in three main initiatives.
To help inspire & build communities free from domestic violence and abuse.
Ending Veteran homelessness. Building a community and rebuilding lives.
Restoring nature, reversing wildlife loss and fighting climate change.
FearIsNotLove offers free programs for any person experiencing domestic violence and abuse. Regardless of who you are, where you come from, who you love, or how you identify yourself, you (and the people you care about) deserve to live without impacting close relationships.

FearIsNotLove (originally founded as the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter) is a registered Canadian charity and relies on the generosity of our community to provide community impact.
There is a growing crisis for Canadian Armed Forces Veterans facing homelessness upon returning to civilian life.
Tragically, up to 10,000 Canadian Veterans now find themselves living on the streets.
The Solar Club, believes we need to do what we can to provide our heroes with a home.
We encourage all our customers to lend a helping hand in building homes for vets.
Donations will continue to build, equip, and operate more tiny home villages for Vertrans across Canada. Each village will provide 5,000 to 9,000 bed-nights per year for Veterans experiencing homelessness.
We cannot solve this problem alone, but together as a community, we can make a difference. Under the tiny home initiative, our Veterans who are in crisis will have the space and support they need to embark on the path to successfully transitioning back into civilian life.

World Wildlife Fund Canada

We are working to conserve species at risk, protect threatened habitats and address climate change. We are drawing on Indigenous knowledge and implementing nature-based solutions that challenge the way we work and redefine humanity’s relationship with the planet. Our long-term vision is simple: to create a world where people and nature thrive.
We can reverse what seems irreversible.
Coming in 2026 and Beyond
SUPPORT GREENER LIVING:
Many areas in Alberta were devastated over the last few years by forest fires.
In 2026 and in the years to follow, we will help sponsor an Alberta reforestation initiative.
Our Goal:
Plant 100,000 trees, which will be known as the Hummingbird Park.

planting a forest?
